ITHACA, NY – May 29, 2025 — Project Look Sharp, a nonprofit media literacy initiative based at Ithaca College, has been named one of the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) 2025 Best Digital Tools for Teaching & Learning. This national recognition honors innovative tools that support school librarians and educators in fostering student learning and the development of critical thinking, digital citizenship, and media literacy.

Each year, AASL selects exemplary digital tools that align with their National School Library Standards, and Project Look Sharp’s inclusion highlights its continued impact in the field of media literacy education. The initiative provides free, curriculum-driven resources that help educators teach students how to analyze media messages across subjects and grade levels.

“This honor from AASL validates the core mission of Project Look Sharp: empowering educators to guide students in becoming thoughtful, media-literate citizens,” said Cyndy Scheibe, Executive Director and Founder of Project Look Sharp. “We are proud to be part of a select group of tools that are advancing 21st-century learning in meaningful ways.”

Project Look Sharp’s offerings include over 900 free lessons for media decoding, professional development workshops, and a growing library of digital resources designed to integrate media literacy seamlessly into existing curricula.
